When time is check-out on my day of departure? And do I need to see the Innkeeper?

Boone’s Colonial Inn’s guest entrance is at the BACK of the building. Enter the public alley to reach the Inn. Boone’s Lick’s parking entrance is off of Main Street. Our main common doors stay locked at all times for all of our guests comfort and safety as we are in a busy active retail/dining area.

What safety  protocols do you have in place for Covid-19 at the property?

Each room is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between stays. This includes all linens washed and replaced, surfaces, light fixtures and door handles wiped with commercial grade antibacterial cleaning products, and rooms aired with fresh air and allowed to rest before the next stay. Boone’s Lick Trail Inn is NOT serving breakfasts at this time due to the fact that our dining space will NOT accommodate County Health Dept. required 6ft spacing for parties and we must remain virtually contactless. Our City/County area does NOT have a mask mandate. This is a difficult decision but if a guest goes to area restaurants or shops that are not practicing social distancing while staying with us, we can not control them coming to our dining room and other guests being exposed.  We do request masks be worn in our common area spaces and encourage you to wear a mask while shopping and visiting restaurants in our community. Due to these extra protocols required by Covid-19 for your safety and our staff’s safety, we do not allow check-ins or early arrivals in person BEFORE 4:00. Our cleaning protocols take every amount of time between guest stays as well as allowing the rooms to fully sit as required by CDC. We must coordinate with you for arrival times and key procedures. We do appreciate your understanding as we navigate the hospitality we provide our guests, but safety is most important at this time.

Where is the wine country?

If you follow First Capitol Drive, which becomes Highway 94, it will take you into the wine country.  A gorgeous country drive featuring nine wineries and quaint small towns as well as the Daniel Boone Home.   It is approximately 22 miles to the first winery.

Can I swim or boat in the Missouri River?

No. The Missouri is a very dangerous river with major undertows and wing dikes that create whirlpools.  Please be extremely careful near its banks.

About the Inn

How old is the Inn?

The Carter Rice building, built originally in 1843, represented one of the most seriously deteriorated and endangered properties in the area prior to the commitment of Paul & V’Anne Mydler. The Mydlers spent six years restoring the building to National Historic Trust standards. In 1987, as they neared completion of the restoration and preservation of the Greek Revival structure, the St. Charles Historic District National Register boundary was increased to include 1000 South Main Street, today home of the Boone’s Lick Trail Inn.  To further understand the building’s fascinating history, you can read more about it here: Boone’s Lick Trail Inn History

What river runs close to the Inn?

Missouri River. It flows North here due to the Earthquake in the early 1800s.

Yes.  The river you see is the Missouri River. Some rooms have direct river views, other rooms have partial river area views meaning once you step out your door.

If there is any other issue such as excessive noise or other concern, please do not hesitate to call the Innkeeper. Many times we don’t find out about an issue until the next day.
